ABOUT

History of South Shore Coalition for Mental Health and Aging

We are engaged as volunteers to provide mental health services to the residents of South Hillsborough County. We will challenge everyone with the means to live a healthy lifestyle in their aging years, and help residents who need extra assistance by providing them with options that can assist them to deal effectively with their personal conflicts and relationships. Our outreach includes a quarterly seminar, newsletter, website and the Coalition Office at Sun Towers Retirement Community in Sun City Center, Florida. We have screening services for depression and memory loss, and a referral system to help those who need assistance. We have expanded our Support Groups to focus on specific needs such as grief, care giving, memory loss, and two groups that deal with the stresses of retirement living.

Board of Directors

Our board meets on the third Friday of each month at South Bay Hospital, 12:00-1:30PM. Board members comprise many active members of our community, including practicing professionals, retirees and volunteers with an interest in mental health.
